Every "best beaches in Zanzibar" article gives you a list of seven or ten spots. We're going to do the opposite. We're going to tell you about one beach. The one we actually use. Every single time.

Our events happen on a private stretch of sand in Bwejuu, right next to the Zan Orient hotel on the southeast coast. It's not the most famous beach on the island. It's not the one you see in every travel blog. And that's exactly the point.

This beach is quiet. Genuinely quiet. No hawkers walking up to you mid-ceremony. No tourist groups posing for selfies in the background. No jet skis. Just white sand, coconut palms leaning over the water, and the Indian Ocean stretching out to the horizon.

Why privacy changes everything

When you're getting down on one knee, or walking barefoot toward a flower arch with the person you love — the last thing you want is an audience of strangers. We've seen it happen on popular beaches. What about the tides?

Bwejuu is on the east coast, which means the tides are more dramatic than on the north. Some people see that as a downside. We see it as a feature.
